memorial day 2010

Quick disclaimer: here's the casey-expression you are going to get today: I'm still to ill to run, and that isn't going over great.... Also disclaimer: Ned was Not In the mood to have his pic taken.... so don't expect much.Wes, however, was okay with it, probably because I had just pushed him up a hill on his bike...Ruth's hair... must do something about ruth's hair...And as for mine... This is always how it is when I run---it pulls the sidebangs in, and looks fairly cute.  I've actually done it on a regular day, for once...Also, freckles.  I freckle like a Weasley, but I'm the only one in my family that has the weasley freckles...

Oh, Beetle... Beetle!

"Pamela Beetle-Gurney was not, to her great sadness, married to Brian Beetle for very long. ... Brian--- as Pamela would sadly tell people many years later--- blew up like a balloon and turned blue.  No one could save him. ... Mrs. Beetle was in a bad state.  The baby had cried all night, she cried all day and the last thing on her mind what what to call her baby boy.  So when the Registrar got out the Ledger of Names, dipped her pen in the ink and very gently asked Mrs. Beetle for the baby's name, all Mrs. Beetle could do was wail, "Oh, Beetle... Beetle!  ---which was what she had called Brian.  Beetle was duly registered as O. Beetle Beetle."  (Angie Sage, Septimus Heap: Queste, 575-576.)

Doesn't it make you just want to read the books???  And seriously, the "slightly chubby boy" who is known to squeak like a hamster when a certain princess is around is truly the best fictional character ever...

The only thing that bums me out about the upcomming Septimus Heap: Magyk movie is that Beetle isn't going to be in it, as he doesn't show up until Septimus Heap: Flyte.  (Book two.)

"As the progressed along the wobbling planks, clinging onto the ice-cold handrails with numb fingers, the cries became louder and more desperate.  These bothered Beetle more than the bridge and he began to sing his own very special tunelss version of an old Castle favorite, "How Much Is That Weasel in the Window?"  For the first time ever, Septimus did not object."  (Angie Sage, Septimus Heap: Queste, 499).

Actually, there are dozens of quotes about Beetle I would dearly love to post, but as I can't give much of a truly hilarous series away, I'll leave you with (Queste, page 367):

"G'night, Cockroach."

an exclusive vague septimus heap reference included for free

I'm not gonna say much, except that school's drawing to a close.  Not the end, no, but less homework, less maniacal term paper.  Geometry pounds on.  Biology is still a stretch, but less homework.  Inklings---that's the crazy three-classes-in-one deal---no homework left.  Spanish---final testing.  Bleh.  No homework though.  That's always nice. And the last pic, just to clear stuff up, my shirt says "grass."  the "gr" is covered... yeah, awwwwkward.  Also, the Septimus Heap reference?  Just look through the pics.

What, I'm too old to read Septimus Heap?  Well haha, edward fans, I have BEETLE, beat that.

word to the wise

...do not mess with a runner who's feeling too ill to go for a run.  This is the face she will give you.

midnight sun

...Okay, so maybe Midnight Sun changed my idea on Twilight.  Sorta kinda, I still do get a headache because I can feel my brain cells dying when I read Breaking Dawn, but that's besides the point... Edward isn't so inhuman!  He keeps bottlecaps, tells himself to keep calm, and everything totally rude in the original novel has a meaning.  He isn't really being outright rude, he's being careful.  And well, he's only human, if you get the expression...
As far as I can tell there's no official cover, but I'd rather think it was the first than the second...
