And again, with this dress, being that I have less than a month to finish it (and I'm usually doing homework or exausted FROM homework! But I'm learning! And that's a good thing! I think.) But I decided my dress wasn't exciting enough yet, so I made some spidery pannels for it a while ago.
I attached a rather-wobbly fake-silk (I couldn't bring myself to use real silk on a costume project) ruche (is that what isn't calledd? It's a row of box pleats, anyway) to the sides of it. I was a teeny bit worried about the wobbly-ness of it all, but now I like the uneven lengths because this is supposed to be a dress which isn't totally even all over. Whoever heard of a perfect halloween-themed dress?
I tried placing the small new pannels over my large spiderweb ones, but I don't like how it looks. (Too centered; covers the lovely spidery web print too much.)
The same, but better lighting. Note knitting. I might put the new pannels towards the back of the dress instead.... or towards the apron in front? I don't want too much orange in back, but can you have too much orange and black on halloween?
